2004 Ride for the Roses
The John Wayne Cancer Foundation was proud to serve as the presenting sponsor of the Lance Armstrong Foundation's (LAF) Ride For the Roses in October 2004. The Ride for the Roses is the LAF's major outreach and awareness effort and celebrates the fundraising efforts of the Peloton Project. Here are some photos from Ride Weekend.

Dean Smith Celebrity Rodeo
Held in memory of John Wayne, the Dean Smith Celebrity Rodeo took place at the Expo Center of Taylor County, Abilene, Texas, November 4-6, 2004. The three-day event included a gala dinner followed by two days of exhibition and rodeo fun for the entire family. Proceeds benefited the John Wayne Cancer Institute, one of the foundation's programs.
Dean Smith, a famous Hollywood stuntman and athlete, has appeared in many John Wayne movies over the years including The Alamo, El Dorado, How the West Was Won, Rio Lobo, and Big Jake.
